Is a brake upgrade required for Vicroads if the AE86 4AC is replaced with a 4AGE?
If yes, what is recommended.
Don't force it... use a larger hammer.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

There seem to be so many conflicting reports on this sort of thing, the usual answer is check with the authoroties in your state and/or your engineer.
As the ae86 came out with a 4age then it would make sense to use the brakes off one of these cars (ie JDM spec as opposed to ADM), AFAIK they are a straight fit (pistons/calipers/mounting bracket).
This info has been repeated way too many times, use a search (and the old forums too)

not sure bout the vicroads part of it, but....
using JDM setup with decent pads should be plenty good enough for your application. you could go down the RA6o strut and brake conversion, but that messes up the geometry abit. It can be fixed tho./....
