    Default AE92 with ABS??

I noticed (on ToyoDIY) that the JDM AE92s (FXGTs at any rate) had ABS as an option from 89-90 onwards. I was idly wondering how much of a PITA it would be retrofitting those ABS components onto an AuDM AE92???

Has anyone considered this - maybe using parts from AE101?

i considered doing this a few years ago... as we had access to a cut up ae92 levin that had abs. looks like it would not be too difficult to retrofit, but you would have to swap the uprights, driveshafts (because of the sensors) the rest would most likely directly drop in, except having to wire in the power supplies for the abs unit (more than one)

if you are going to do it, use a unit from an ae9* car, ae101 is mostl ikely quite different

I have a C56 Box out of an AE111 (which according to ToyoDIY should have ABS). Can I pick up off the sensors in those Shafts < and where ARE the Shaft sensors located? >

By uprights you mean the shocks? If so why? looking at a 92' FXGT the Sensor lines are separate parts. . .

Did this sort of thing just the other week as I am building one AE101 Levin from two.

You need the 4 hubs and sensors, the body, engine bay (not engine) and dash looms, ABS computer, the G-sensor under the hand brake, all the brake lines in the engine bay (including to the front brakes), proportioning valve, ABS unit and bracket, brake master cylinder,, brake booster, and all the clips and brackets for the new brake lines.
Oh and maybe the dash cluster for the ABS light (although, it might be able to be retrofitted in your existing cluster).

If you have the two cars side by side (or easy access to the donor car) it can be done if you can spend the time to pull your interior to pieces. I did it myself, but have the luxury of having both cars in my back yard.
The hole for where the rear sensors exit the cabin to the wheel arch will have to be drilled, but if you copy the donor car, it's no drama at all.
It's not hard if you have the engine out, but a bit of a PITA to get down behind the engine to the proportioning valve and brake lines if the engine is left in, not impossible though. I removed a heap of gear from a front cut with engine in place to replace damaged parts from my donor shell.

The sensors are mounted directly to the hubs, just behind the flange the disc rotors sit on. You don't need the struts, but you do need the hubs. (No difference anywhere in the suspension between the two except the hubs themselves).
