Wouldnt a 1UZ be the go?
    Or a 18RG or 1GGZE on a budget .... ....go for torque....
    Thats only my thinking though
Also thought anything could be marinised ..... its all treatment afaik. There is a guy locally here who uses a latish model car VTEC (lol) Honda motor in a race boat. Seen but no pics. Salt water use aswell. Been around for a few years now.... im guessing its treated as it aways look new.

Or just buy a Yamaha outboard ..... 225 Salwater series V6 2 stroke is my favorite!

    Love the 4AGE boat pic!

theres actually a class of boat racing that uses the 4AGE
my neighbour who has a chev 327 in his ski boat raves on about them
so i'd suspect there definately is a kit of some variety for them
i will ask him as i need to see him about something next i see him

i am loving the look of that lil miss buzz. and the thia 4age boat looks cool, it appears to be some sort of specific coating they have painted on it to 'water proof' it.

I wouldn't be running the water through the engine without a heat exchanger... what happens if you suck up a few long strands of weed??

4AGE with correct prop selection should be fine in a reasonably light boat. Definitely suited to a higher speed lightweight boat, though could be used fine with a heavier boat if you put a reduction gear on the output and a bigger prop.

Have thought about building a little 2 person speedboat with a 4A powering it for a number of years... never got round to building it, and probably (unfortunately) never will.

yep the 1.6L hydro class, uses either ford kent engines or stock 4age's.

a good mate of mine runs that class. just finished his new boat actually. they are generally capable of 80-90+mph (stock blue or red tops with webers and dry sump) in the right boat.

as far as i know, his new boat doesnt run anything special. doesnt run a water pump, just pressurised cooling from the rudder iirc. doesnt need any special cooling system mods, just always run the boat for a while with fresh water after a run.

    old boat:
