Hi guys
Finally fitted the 1J into my new shell and noticed there is a slight cracke on the alloy part of the sump now it hasnt opened up but is a crack could have been caused by the front ender the car had before. now its been like that for 1 year. can it be tigged up??? also as i NEED to drive it would can I use on it at this stage ive smothered it in silicon lucky for me its not on the steel bowl of the sump!!!

can be tigged up if its removed from the engine obviously.. but if its on the car, i would clean the shit out of it with brake cleaner (or fuel, anything that evaporates without leaving residue), and use aliminium devcon
ive used it for transmission coolers on bmws as there a little aluminium can type looking thing that clips into the radiator and has water running through it, people bump kerbs or a decent rock flicks up and they weep oil... never had one come back
tip, grind a groove along the crack with a dremel/die grinder before devcon/loctie metal filler

cool cheers for the tips. I used some jbweld cleaned area with wire brush and brake cleaner also as it was inline with the bolts that hold on the powersteering fluid line to the alloy part so I made a steel plate that bolts up with silicon for extra insurance. have given WTF auto a call and they say then can tig it up so will visit them when I can! thank goodness it at the higest point and low pressure area!!!
