Hi guys.. I should hopefully have my 1G-GTE back running soon, once it is run in, what is the maximum safe boost that the engine will take? (stock internals, stock headgasket, stock fuel for now, but will be uprated it need be!)
How much boost are the stock CT-12s good for???
I am running a Trust front mount intercooler with a 1G hard pipe kit, and a full decat HKS hyper system (along with a few other toys lol, mines eci, apexi sacf, apexi avcr etc etc)
cheers!!!!
(I tried to do a forum seach, no luck!)

The engine is good for plenty of boost. Personally, I'd be a little unhappy about running the factory turbos (providing they're Gen3 versions) at any more than 16-17psi. Your intercooler will help lower temps into the engine, and the exhaust should make it easier for the turbos to do their job. You shouldn't need to upgrade the injectors before the turbos run out of puff. First thing I'd be doing is getting all those gadgets tuned, a tuned engine is a happy engine.
Hope that helps.

Yup fantastic!
My engine is a Rev 3 one, factory fitted to my '89 supra, once it is built up and run in I intend to get it all properly set up on a wideband (no point in getting the toys to make it run right, and not using them properly!) I'll probably play it safe with 1 bar, maybe 1.2 on scramble.
I should be running a fully balanced bottom end with shot peened rods too to help keep things strong! I only have stock pistons though
Cheers!!!

time to piss the stock turbos off by the sounds of it and get something decent on it
they are strong little motors and can take a hell of a beating and make stupid power on alittle boost![]()

I wouldn't be worried about the pistons. They're not prone to failure providing everything is tuned. Go to work sonny!
