I was hoping that the front struts from an AE86 will fit into an Ae92.
What other struts will fit? Is it possible to put celica or something struts and maybe even do a 5 stud coversion while i am at it.
Thanks,
Ty
ae86 will definetly NOT fit. completely different suspension setup. FWD vs RWD
why do you want to change struts?
for the 5 stud conversion?
cause the struts dont have much to do with the studs on ae92. what you would need is a new hub and steering knuckle and possible lower control arm. then you would have to ensure that your drive shaft fits through the hub....
maybe ae101 or ae111 (not sure which one) will fit. im not 100% sure tho

Thanks for the reply though,

do you mean strut inserts?
thats what im starting to think he means....originally i thought he meant the whole thing

I did not realise that the shock was removable form the strut. I thought you had to replace the whole thing. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am wondering if there are any inserts otherr than AE92 one which will work.
Thanks,
Ty
just get new inserts for an AE92, simple!
I had a look at the struts today while they are still on the car and they don't appear to have a removable top on them for the insert. They look like a sealed unit. They say toyota on them. I am wondering if they have been changed a some point with non-GTI struts (may be from a base model or some thing)
Thanks,
Ty
typically the rear struts are sealed units, but the fronts should take inserts (at least they do on an ae93) if you have all sealed units suggest you go visit some wrecking yards and loof for a corolla with the different front struts.
failing that i do actually have some jic coilovers to suit a ae90 corolla i might be convinced to sell (no springs, one front shock is damaged, so the pair of front shocks will need to be replaced)
