Hi, if you want a little more steering angle at lock & slightly quicker steering, yes. The AE86 arms are slightly shorter than TA22, don't know how much by - not a whole lot. Someone on here defs would know

Personally, I'd put them in to gain a little steering response... The TA22 needs as much help as it can get with its almighty 4.1 turns-to-lock steering box.

What's the reason for AE86 struts going in?

Edit: bolt spacing is the same at 85mm, as I have AE86 RCA's on my standard TA22 struts & LCA

Should clarify: 85mm is the bolt spacing of the thread into the bottom of the strut. This is the same for AE86 + TA22 + numerous other Toyota models. The length of the steering arm is from balljoint to tie-rod end.

I don't know how long the TA-22 ones are but if you can find a set of AE-86 power steering ones they're shorter again. I forget by how much but it's something like 10m shorter .... ? I used to have a photo of the two types on the Club4AG site, they might still be there.

    i measured 130mm ta22, 115 ae86 p/s. the ta22 measurement was many moons ago.
our late ke70 wagons (1985-'88) have an 85mm arm and 130mm length which are pretty easy to source. this length is in between the p/s and non p/s ae85/ae86 arms.

i'd like to know if the ta22 arms have the steering travel limit adjustment bolts in them?

AE25, they do indeed have the steering lock adjusters. Just went and checked then.
