Default 1UZ non-interference engine? - How to check stuck valve?

    Is the 1uz a non-interference engine?

It looks like from what i can gather that it is non-interference.

Therefore, the thought past my mind that it could be a valve stuck open. How do I check for that?

    What's the compression?
Any valves have a lash/gap that is WAY beyond spec? If it runs, it will be LOUD, no reason to measure it.

Your results and/or mileage/kilometerage may vary.
I have no experience with whatever you're working on.

Normal 1UZ is non-interference. VVTi 1UZ is interference.

Check via compression test and or leakdown test.

    Awesome, thanks guys.

I shall do some investigating with the compression / leak down test.

Pull the rocker covers and if a valve is stuck down you should have enough clearence between the cam lobe and bucket to put your finger in. and the valve shim would probably have fallen off to.

    Cheers, Al.
