Hey guys.
Been looking up on how to lower the KE10/11 and i notice that usually in all threads one or two guys pop in and talk about Coilovers, but i can't find any info on the set ups or .. well anything to do with it, really. I've seen some talk about S13 coilovers to suit aswell, and stuff about an 86 front end but I'm a bit at a loss as to that aswell.
So, can anyone steer me in the right direction or fill me in with what the go is? Thanks .
for most old school cars there isn't any off the shelf coilovers that fit straight up. You can convert your original struts to coilovers, by welding on a threaded sleeve such as the HSD ones that the forum sponsors otomoto are selling, or the T3 ones etc.
generally you can modify steering/suspension components (may be illegal depending on what you do -speak to an engineer first if you're unsure) or substitue other components from other cars to make use of aftermarket coilovers. not sure about specific components for your case though unfortunately. This can however upset your original geometry and cause bumpsteer problems.
Personally i would be looking into converting your struts to coilovers, or maybe a different strut (xt130 are a pretty commonly used strut for old school toyotas, with the added bonus of a couple of good, reasonably easy brake upgrades available) as you will keep your geometry as close to original as possible
