hi all,
i wanted to know would i be losing power from my o2 sensor not being wired up?
i read that the map gze sensor only worked on idle, is this true?or am i losing power from over fueling
i hve noticed on 20vs they are abit doughy off the mark without an o2 sensor
maybe not all of them
but i have bveen told without an o2 sensor yr car wont pass emissions at the rta tests
if toyota use it correctly, it will only affect mixtures at cruise and light throttle, above idle, so at idle, it should not be trying to go to stoich.Originally Posted by rollamattae86
it should DEFINITELY not be trying to change mixtures to stoich under any sort of load. that would be bad.
is the ECU throwing a code for it? does the ECU go into some kind of conservation mode if that error comes up?

The MAP GZE O2 sensor wont lose you any significant power figures. Maybe 1-2hp at absolute most. However, it will affect your fuel usage, especially when driving around town.
When my O2 sensor was bung i was getting maybe 300Km per tank and when i replaced it it was up to 450km per tank.
As for the ECU error codes my MAP GZE ecu never threw any codes even when it was detatched.
