Toyota Type 4 fluid works best. Soarer guys have tried Dex 2 and Dex 3 only to complain of shuddering and not so smooth shifting compared to the Type 4 fluid .

Hi,

Yep Toyota Type T-IV, many toyota dealers will tell you that It's supposed to use Dexron, but they are idiots. Use only Toyota T-IV.

There's also instructions on how to flush it on SoarerCentral (make sure you get the 'in' and 'out' tubes the right way around though - learned this one the hard way).

When I bought the fluid to do mine Toyota quoted $70 for 12L of the fluid or $95 to do it for me. In hindsight I should've just paid the $15 and got them to do it... it was by far the biggest pain in the ass job i've ever had to do on a car...
