Default Celsior Key RFID, Power Lock Info Please.

    Hello,

I have a 1990 Celsior, the key had no battery for the transmitter, I put a Lithium 3.0v battery in and the key still did not work. I now need to rule out whether it is the key transmitter or the receiver on my car that is not working.

Any information would be appreciated, such as the frequency etc.

    Thankyou.

On my other non-toyota vehicles the key has to be reprogrammed if the battery is changed. The reprogramming appears to be unique to each car so do a google search for celsior. If you have more than one key they all have to be done again at the same time.

my battery was dead when I got my Celsior, so I went and got a replacement. It worked straight away. But it only works within about 2m from the car. Nothing had to be 'reprogrammed'.

check the little battery connections and make sure the contacts are tight, mine were a bit sloppy and had to tighten up mine for it to work.

    That all I got.....

There may be a switch down by the boot release that turns the remote locking on/off

Mine didn't work after replacing the battery either.
So I just put aftermarket remote central on it.

Here's one post I found in a few seconds on google for celsior:
"Thanks for a friend who tested it and it works for his 96 SC300.
Even the remote for this car has the same code as my 97 LS400, this same instruction doesn't work for me, I know it doesn't work for 95 LS400 as well. (failed at step 7)
If somebody had successful experience with 97 LS400, I would like to hear. thanks.

    Remote Programming Instructions

    1. Driver's door OPEN and unlocked, all other doors closed and locked.
    2. Insert YOUR key in ignition, DO NOT TURN, remove key.
    3. Using the MANUAL lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly
    press
lock and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
    4. Shut door.
    5. Open door.
    6. Using the lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock
and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
    7. With the door open insert your key into the ignition, turn to on
position (DON'T START), wait 5 seconds. Turn off and remove key.
    8. Locks should cycle once (Car will lock and then unlock once). If
    they
don't cycle or they cycle more than once, do steps 1-7 over.
    9. Now using the remote, push lock button, hold for one second,
    release.
The locks should cycle once. If not, start over and go slower.
    10. Close the door. Open the door. Press the lock button on the remote.
The locks should cycle. Close the door. Press the lock button on the
remote, the doors should lock. Press again and the doors should
    unlock.

I'm pretty sure the earlier models, much like the Soarers were hard coded.

This is of course assuming it's not an aftermarket addition

Just tried that on a '90 Celsior.

Failed at step 8 (ie the first step where its supposed to do things by itself)

Note that I said the program procedure was one I found on google. You might have to find the right procedure for your car. On a Mazda I own the procedure is different on Australian models than those sold in the UK. Manufacturers seem to want to make everything difficult even for things that to us seem simple like a remote key lock.

DOES NOT APPLY TO 89-94 CELSIORS!

as I said, With the model in question, It's just a matter of changing the battery. The guy who sold me my celsior, said he hadn't used the remote key for YEARS and it didn't work. I changed it and it was fine.

    Hi,

I ordered a door control ECU from ebay, put my ROM chip in it and tried it out and it does not work. At this stage I am starting to suspect the key transmitter, because on the ebay website it says that the part is in good working condition.

Is there anyway to test if the key is transmitting, it is drawing power from the battery I measured with a multimeter, but how should I go about testing if it transmits, what frequency does it use?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have just found out that my remote key does work, using a signal diode and a multimeter I was able to pickup the signal every time I pressed the key. Also I found out that it runs at 29mhz, I can tune into it with the radio and press the key and hear a tone on the radio.

I also checked if both the chips in the receiver unit and the key are the same, and they are.

Now that I know that the remote key is transmitting, and we have tried 2 receiver units, my original one and one from ebay that the seller said is working, still nothing.

    Any help?

Presumeably the door locks work using the button on the drivers door?

If you can find the corresponding output on the receiver unit and test to make sure it operates the door locks. (Disconnect the receiver unit and ground/12V the corresponding lock/unlock wires)

I've done that, it works so there is no problem with the solenoids or the wires leading from the receiver unit to the solenoids.

    So Basically :

    - Tried shorting out pins on wiring harness, doors lock and unlock.

    - Tried tuning into the frequency that the remote works on (20.95mhz) with the radio and pressing the button on the key, I can hear it through the radio.

    - Tried holding the key right next to the antenna for the wireless reciever and pressing it

    - Tried holding the key right next to the plug for the antenna on the reciever box and pressing it

    - Tried buying another reciever unit off ebay that seller says works and putting my ROM chip in and testing

    - Tried New battery in remote key

    - Made sure the switch on the dash to turn the remote central locking on/off is working.

After all that, I am still unable to get it to lock/unlock.
