Hey guys.
got a slight problem.
brought my engine with out turbos or manifolds. SO i went single turbo.
So they were a few disconnect things and i guessed where they went.
I was told to block ISCV valve up. so i capped it i left it plugged in though. Cause i couldnt work out where it went.
I know it runs a pipe round the back of the head an goes to somewhere around the original twin setup.
said ISCV in pics
This is where its located
WHERE THE HELL DO I RUN IT TO LOL!
im guessing into the intake pipe on my single turbo? Pipe with filter nagning off it.... not shown in pics.
Everything was working fine with the stock ecu in and running 6 psi. Now its tuned its gone to shit. Now when i drop the car into any gear from park it stalls. and when i do manage to get it driving its fine but when i pull up to a set of lights and stop etc it stalls also.
Im told its cause this is not connected up.
This what my tuner told me. its an idle up he said.
please help ..... its a real pig to drive like this
any help aprreciated. cheers![]()

unblock the ISCV.. if its working you will want good idle.
AFAIK the pipe connects between the turbo and filter
with my ISCV on a custom inlet i dont have any type of pipe on it and it idles fine

iscv can just run to air mate, add a filter on itthough!

remove cap and go for a test drive for yoursef but you will need this for cold start and for toyotas shitty idle control.Originally Posted by TasCressida

do they have any adjustment ? and how if so.
or is this done thru my aftermarket ecu?
JZX90 Lovin'
what ecu you using stocko or other?
unblock it put a filter on it and i think your problem will be resolved.

its probly not hooked up to the ecu so you wouls have to
A raise the idle and forget about the valve or
B hook it up to the ECU properly and get it tuned to suit.

if it isnt wired up is that meaning it stuck open or closed?
i tried up idle but when i go to take of in D-rive it stalls still.... this car is shitting me lol.
if stomp the go pedal its fine .... it hesitates then goes fine.

any other ideas i can try?
any other thoughts .. haven tried it unplugged as yet.

try adjusting the throttle blade/butterfly more to allow more air in on idle?

hey guys.
Played with it today.
Ran it with no hose i.e to aptmosphere
it was perfect till it warmed up. it drove fine ..engaged gear and revved fine.
As soon as my cold start Rev limit dropped out it became its piggish self.
Thinking its underlying problem with my adaptronic tune ..... there seems to be a lot of these ive found.
im shitty with my power for my supporting mods so now ive opted for a retune this weekend and to sort this other drama.
Forey may i ask that i have a look at your setup maybe in person. being one of few locals running a 1JZ, can u PM me your number please. id love to have a look over it.
just cant wait to drive my car to its full potential lol.
cheers

i think the best and easiest way to overcome this problem would be when you pull up at the lights just sit there and do a foot on, untill the lights go green (assuming you can see the traffic lights). I can see no feasable floor in this plan.
As forey said it should run to the inlet pipe for your turbo. How fast does it idle? when say in park?
sounds like its a tuning issue let us know how you go.
Do the 1js run a seperate idle up valve for things like air con etc?

Did you work this one out?
My car is doing the same thing by the sound of it... But mine is going to atmosphere and the problem has happened once before, but fixed itself
Basically, after having the car off the road with the isolation switch disconnected for 2 weeks, the single jobbie was done and car worked great...
Took for quick test drive, and no problems. Took it for several more test drives over the next few days, and car was fine... Until it lost all power. What seemed like a short or an ark or something...
Jumped out of car, and there was no power at all, so i checked the isolation switch first, and it must have wiggled loose or something, cause as soon as i touched it, i had power again...
I started car, and now it doesnt idle... It coughs and chokes and stalls, the ISCV Screaming for air as it stalls... So it seems to be pulling air, but maybe not enough? I open the throttle and once the revs are up around 1k, it seems to be fine...
Im going to run a quick test just now, basically swap for stock ecu, turn key... Test? Profit?
Last time it did it, i accidently arked a wire from the diagnostics box to the chassis, the car staled and wouldnt idle just like this for many weeks
Oh, what sounds like clapping noise on back off, could be backfire through the new turbo, manifold, and dump? im not sure lol
Cheers,
Jase
jase,
did you pull yours out and clean it?
i have no idea about these things at all....
but if during your electrical issue the iscv fully opened or jammed shut, ie to full movement where it doesn't normally go, perhaps it has a bit of shit on it and has jammed???
cheers

I cleaned it thouroughly with degreaser and cloth... And i have also subaru head cleaner filled the plenum...
