The old Lux isn't running too well at the moment. It's experiencing what feels like a fuel cut. While accelerating it will start to cough and shit. I've cleaned the injectors, put a new diaphram in my regulator, replaced the spark plugs, flow tested the Bosch 044 and checked that the lift pump was keeping up, tried a VL turbo pump and cleaned up the coil packs with liquid elecy tape and heat shrink.
It sounds like there could be a leak in one of the turbo manifolds, could this cause this kind of problem? I'm stumped now, The igniter or the PowerFC are the only things left to check that I can think of. If I can't fix it by the 1st April, it's going to Bleigh Park Automotive.

Hey just a thought, check all the vacuum / pressure hoses around the throttle body, I had a similar issue and changed plugs and it turned out to be a tiny rubber hose with a one way valve on it that had split open... It ran like shit... such a little hose caused big problems![]()
Power FC let you pull diag codes?
Cheers
Wilbo
I'm not sure on the diag codes from the PowerFC. I'm not even sure if my lux has a check engine light. I'll check that later. Which do I short to get the codes? Is it the diag port in the engine bay, cause I heard that there was an under dash one too (not sure if I have this one if it exists).
The motor and loom all came from a JZA70 by the way.
Cheers
Dave

Checked the fuel pressure at the rail when revving the engine?
I had what I can only assume is a similar problem to yours and it ended up being low fuel pressure at the rail. Fuel pressure was fine until I revved the engine, which starved the engine of fuel since there wasn't enough fuel getting to the rail. It ended up being the pulsation damper thing that sits on the fuel filter / end of the rail (I've seen it in both places in various pictures).
Checked tried another map sensor?
Have heard of similer problems from vac line popping of the map..
Fuel pressure is a stable 40PSI at idle and climbs slightly when free revving it. I can't check if it is climbing properly when boosting cause the gauge is under the bonnet. I don't have a pulsation dampener fitted.
Map sensor is only 1&1/2 yrs old. It's a 3Bar sensor that comes with the PowerFC Boost Control Kit. I'll check if the filter is blocked on it though and I've only checked if all the vac hoses are connected so I'll get some soapy water and check for holes too.
I haven't had a chance to check for fault codes yet. What normally flashes to tell me the code?

I'm such a fool. I was double checking the vac hoses and found it. The air intake had sunk and was sitting on the EBC solenoid outlet to the Wastegates and had torn the hose. Replaced it and it runs like a dream again. I could have sworn I checked the EBC solenoid already but I guess I missed it. I'll have to get a bracket made to hold the filter and keep it from sinking again.
+ rep to all those that I can for your help.
Cheers guys
Dave
