Gx81 LSD what to buy?

Hey everyone, I'm currently buying a lsd for my gx81 mark ii. I was just wondering if a jza70/ma70 lsd would fit into my gx81 diff housing. I have found two that I'm interested in on yahoo auctions.

TRD 1.5 way lsd for a jza70 or a Cusco type-RS 2 way lsd for a gx81.

does anyone know which one would be better as i am going to use the car for road use and occasional drift practice. Has anyone had any experience with these lsd's and can comment on their performance/drift and if its too aggressive for road use i.e skips and carries on.

both are good LSD's and aren't bad for daily usage (well they've never bothered me)

you may want to check the build plate on the car to see what diff it has already as i heard a rumour that some gx81's come with an F series instead of a G series (poverty packs i assume)

if its a G series the jza70 diff centre should go in without a problem.

yer on the build plate it says g252 next to trans/axle so i assume its a g series then

I put a JZA70 plate LSD center into my GX81 GT G series diff housing. pretty straightforward as I already had the LSD side-shafts which are a bit different to the open diff side-shafts.

$1230 for a brand new kaaz 2way

$800 in Japan for Tomei 2-ways for GX81s. Should be able to land a new centre for around $1000-1200 I guess, depending on shipping costs.
The Kaaz LSDs are ok, but are the roughest and noisiest of the lot. Would definitely choose a Cusco given the choice.

yer thanks for your help guys. propably go for the cusco 2 way. id say it would be near 1100 landed. i heard that cusco are better qaulity than others anyway.

Cusco's are a very pleasant mechanical diff to use when compared to other brands. Kaaz is known for it's clunking, but does it's job well. I miss my Cusco diff in my S13

little present arrived in mail today. ended up getting this over the cusco because the price was much more than advertised on yahoo, this should do a good job as well should have it installed by tomorrow, ill let you guys know how it goes.

ah yer sorry bout bad info lol. Its a tomei t-trax advance 2 way. I live down the south coast so yer you probably wouldn't have seen me around.

You know tomei is just a modified Kaaz? I've got one in my car. Hope you like your diff telling you its there every day.

well if u run it in right it shouldn't be noisy? friend has had no problem with his and was quiet.

yes that is Ben's old mark II. it was around 1200 delivered still unsure of exact pricing. $900 for lsd centre + about $250-$300 EMS. f%#king quick postage i tell you, was sent from japan Monday arrived Wednesday

if your having noisy diff issues id check that its set up ok, and is running the right oil.
they shouldnt be too bad. maybe you have it set up too tight
