Hello folks.
I got my 04 hilux RZN154 not long ago, yesterday I changed the steering wheel over for a simple momo (its a race hilux, obviously) but after i did that the indicators wont self cancel anymore. I didnt like the thought of this so I put the original wheel back on. Didnt change back, could it have been getting the original wheel off I damaged the combination switch for the indicator stork? theres no real mechanism i can see that visibly makes the stork return to its original position, so it must be in the collumn itself?
Should i try a new combination switch or have i fucked it up in other ways.
help.
Andy.
On the back of your standard steering wheel there is a bronze ring. This ring has two holes in it one at 3 o clock and one at 9. These holes catch on pins when the wheel turns and they cancel the indicators.
Your boss kit will not have these holes so in order to get the indicators to cancel you will need to drill two holes into the brass ring on the back of the boss kit. They need to be in the same position as the standard wheel.
hope that helps

heyy mate,
I know its been a while since u posted this but i was wondering, i have a Momo wheel on my car and if it is possible to drill a couple of holes so that the self cancelling still works i would be hell interested lol. Do u have any pics on how to do it or something???
Thanx mate
While not related to a Hilux, I had the same issue with my Mark II and took some photos so hopefully they help you out.
The photos show the little ring that is needed to cancel the indicators. The back of the boss needs to have the matching holes in order for it to spin the ring, which will cancel the indicators properly.
