And was wondering if I should get any reinforcing done while its at the shop ?

Begs the question, "why"? Are you planning to engage in motorsport, or install a more powerful engine and beefed up drive train? Where were you thinking of adding the reinforcement?
For a standard road car, the fatory spot welds are tough enough.The metal around the spot will tear before the weld gives way.

MWP and Chuck each make good points. Structural body failures are rare on RA23's. While its in the panel shop it would not hurt to strengthen the strut top mounting points and the rear shock and coil mounting areas.
