hey all, putting the 1g and auto into my ra23 and was wondering how much power these things can handle? the one im about to pick up is stock, i may look at getting it shift kitted n stuff maybe down the track but there is no telling how long it will stay in the car due to a 1jz conversion happening hopefully soon. Ideally the motor should be putting about 250rwkw at the most, will this be killing the box?

take it easy on it and it will last a lil while,
GU11TY went thru 3 in his old GZ20 soarer, stock motor on 15psi....
how ever tho, his 1st box put up with HEAPS,....'D' dumps everyday, and a both tyre bloowing burnout at wsid burnout comp...aswell as heaps of 'illegal' industrial area activities....
so if its good to start with, you may be lucky for a while!

250 rwkw will kill the box. Plain and simple. But ofcourse it depends how long and how much of the 250rwkw you put through it day in day out.

Ok, is the 1g auto box the same as the 1uz and 1jz box? arent they all a340's? If i was to get myself a hold of one of these could i just change the bellhousing and yoke on my tailshaft would that last a bit longer?
