I HAVE A FERRINO (74 CELICA WITH 308 FERRARI BODY KIT ON IT) & I NEED HELP
When i bought the car the guy told me that if it didn't start to take off the rocker cover & move the chain (timing) around, i did this & not knowing much about cars i bent valves.![]()
The valves still move in & out, & i have compression in 3 cyl (1 cyl the holding pin fell out of the camshaft & it hit valve 1 exhaust.) & now im stuck![]()
Now i know alot about my car & most toyotas NOW & i have decided to start to restore it.
If anyone has parts for a 2t-g or a 3t-c that they are willing to sell, i will buy it.
I also need pop up headlights out of a 308 ferrari & a o/s/r blinker cap
Or if anyone knows where i can get parts aftermarket or original that would be great.
I work for toyota & toyota doesn't make most parts i need.
Especially i need rings, bearings & everything for a complete rebuild on a 2t-g, OR A COMPLETE ENGINE.
& A 3T-C CRANKSHAFT
Thanks heaps
Try contacting castle hill toyota, they can still get alot of stuff from japan! There is one guy imparticular whose name always escapes me... He is usually pretty helpful...
As far as ferrari parts goes, your gonna be better off doing custom stuff because if you need anything genuine ferrari your gonna spend more on that one headlight then you paid for the car...
Try adapting a 180sx light or something or mr2 to keep it kinda toyota... OR start from scratch...
Also there is a place, rare spares, they are in qld i think, they have seals and stuff. There was a classic celica place in wetherill park but they are now gone
Also try www.classic-celica.com they sometimes have some stuff for cheap, just gotta fork out shipping to aus from usa...
Finally, try ebay. There is sometimes good stuff....
Cheers,
Jase

I'm sure thetoyman75 or Yellorolla will be able to help you out with where to source some old T series bits. In fact thetoyman75 as a really nice 3TGTE long motor for sale at the moment that would be a far better deal than rebuilding a 2TG.
how many of these body kits where made? i saw a black one on a tow truck and it was very rough.Originally Posted by Cob604
anyways search the forums new and old, this has been covered before many times but to start you off try:
http://www.swmotorsport.com/
they have valves, gaskets, chain guides etc listed on their site, pretty much nearly every thing you need for a complete rebuild. They are top guys.

2T-G - Half the valves but twice the fun.
Jase I have dealt with James Sloane from CH toyota, very helpful on hard to get bits, that the guy you mean?Originally Posted by Smokey228
And fonzy beat me to it - Stewart Wilkins Motorsport will be able to help you with ALOT of parts to rebuild it, check out their webpage. Great guys to deal with, they post things at the speed of light!

yeah thanks for all the help. the guy i bought it off told me that there is only 3 in the world that have this exact body kit. i have seen a few with the same idea & close body kit but not exactly the same.
So can anyone tell me where to find another full engine or short motor.
Thanks
and the guy you bought it off made and sold only 3 of these kits?
or, the more likely option, he dont know for sure?
Elmo.
if your going for a standard rebuild, i can supply you with:Originally Posted by Cob604
- a complete 2T block with pistons, rods, crank and flywheel
- standard 8.8cr 2T-G pistons, rods (you can find 9.8cr ones too)
- 1x 88222 head needs buckets and cams ( i maybe able to supply them if i find them)
- 1x 88222 head needs a freshen up with new valves.
I was going to use this set up for my 3rd 2T-G rebuild. But im currently still on my first.
