Hey guys a couple of questions about the 1G motor
Do the 1G gte/gze bottom end come forged from the factory? And if they do, are they able to be switched with the 1gfe(is200) bottom end?
Reason I ask is that I plan to go ahead with a small turbo conversion on my is200.

Mate, there arent many cars from the factory with forged cranks and conrods. Some have forged pistons, but its usually not much of a job.
Best option for a tubro 1G is to use at least pistons from a 1G-GTE, if not the whole bottom end (just because its easier).
I believe crank bearing part number for 1G-G/T/F are all the same - so should all work.
However, head is really different on FE and valves might interfer with pistons - probably not as GTE is 8.5:1 compression. Also, GZE is 8.0:1 so dont bother trying to find them.
Oh, and this has already been done, the bloke ditched it for a JZ after spending a lot of money with the same idea as you.

If you are just after a bit more torque, why not super charge what you have???
I can confirm that the rev 3 1G-GTE actually has the same crank as the IS200, the rods and pistons are very different. Due to the lower compression the 1G-GTE is a not a great producer of low end grunt, hence why, if you are just after increased driveability instead of huge power a 'charger makes sense. there are a few IS200 kits out there![]()

"confused" how do u make it rear wheel drive by adding a supercharger ?

Rough measure is that there's 30%-40% loss from the flywheel to the rear wheels.
So taking the 30% number 128rwkW = ~183fwkW
Oh and it's a turbocharger kit.

30 to 40% is an EXTREMELY optimistic figure. For example my car was approx 20% (FWD car) with 140k on the clock.

FWD = less drivetrain loss.
It's all guesstimation anyway. That's why I only quoted the rwkW figure to begin with. The calculation was done as part of the explanation.

i allways thought of fwkw = front wheel kilowatts, the same as rwkw = rear wheel kilowatts.
just kw = flywheel kws.
even still . for 8k id be wanting a bit more than 128rwkw. my 1g made 171rwkw and i dont think ive spent 8k on the whole car, including purchase
