well ive got a gz20 which now has a 1jzgte now pretty much everything is wired up except the speedo, i cant figure it out, was out there for about 2 hours trying wires and testing them but i cant figure it out.
now theres a green, yellow and red wire coming from the speed sensor and ive run it up the firewall and into the glovebox where the ecu is.
now i dont know where these 3 wires go, i assume 1 is positive(red) 1 is ground(green) and 1 is signal wire(yellow)? and i also assumed that the purple wire coming over from the dash is the signal IN wire for the speedo in the dash, but it doesnt seem to work.
Now im just wondering if maybe the speed signal has to go through the ecu or something but id assume it doesnt but i dont know.
If any1 knows anything at all about this or can help me in any way i would reallllllllllllly appreciate it im desperate guys, i wanna knowhow fast im going so i dont get a speeding fine.
Cheers Chris

What did the 1JZ come out of?
Do you still have the speed sensor off your old box? (the newer sensors won't work with the older dash)
In terms of which pin colour goes where I can't help without referring to notes, but you should be able to just hook up your old sensor, through the transmission and engine looms, into the same pins of the engine loom to cowl loom plugs.
The speed sensor signal goes from the sensor, through the transmission loom, through the engine loom, through the cowl or dash loom to the cluster for the speedo. The cluster also divides this signal by 5 and sends it to the ECU. Purple is usually the speed sensor signal to the ECU.

You need to get your old 1G loom, find out which 3 wires were for the speed sensor, and which 3 pins they go to at the dash-loom plug end.
Then just plug them in to those.
Without that loom you will need an accurate wiring diagram.
When I wired mine up, I put the speed sensor in a drill for testing. Makes that part of it simpler.
Also have a quick search. About 2 weeks ago there was a thread about what colours do what.
i searched for a while and couldnt find the thread and i do have the wiring diagrams but i have no idea how to read them lol so they are useless to me.
i cant figure it out so ive booked it in to fours n more, they deal with soarer and stuff so hopefully they can fix it.
