Thought i would edit this thread rather than starting a new one.
I got the sard 1.1 fpr, and now i need help fitting it. can someone tell me where what goes please? not overly confident. i know the top "L" shaped fitting goes to a boost/vacc source, but the other two connections i'm not sure where to join them in. the unit came with this Nissan fitting on the end. can that fitting be used at all?

thought about getting 500's or 550's instead?
ideally you'd want to keep around 80% duty, although 90% could be ok (depending on.. stuff)
50psi is probably still ok, as logn as your pump can handle it (how much boost? boost + base = pump presure).... if you fit RRFPR, then pump pressure required = base pressure + 1.5x or 1.7x boost
normal say, 1 bar, pump pressure is 57psi..
2 bar boost 72psi
2 bar and 1.5 rrfpr = 97..
which walbro do you have? normal or HP.. there are flow vs pressur echarts for both somewhere on the net (some guy comparing to supra pumps iirc?)

depending on your boost, it might be good to keep pump pressure down to maintain flow...

oh and fitting FPR after stock one works cos the pressure is dictated by the greatest restriction... you might need to still fit vac line to stock fpr (depending on your base pressure), since with no line, it will keep 42psi, but at idle, usually it would drop by whatever the vacuum is.. (ie, if the increase in base pressure is more than the manifold vacuum at idle/cruise, then no need to hook vac to stock FPR)

thanks oldrolla, I have the walbro 255lph (gss342?) pump. looking to run about 18psi boost pressure. (base 50 + 18boost = 68psi)
I thought about getting 540s from the 3rd gen but i wont find any in time from my dyno tune, and wasnt really prepared to change the injectors over, incase i had to swap ecu's back. the 540s wouldnt run too nice on the factory ecu im sure.
Are you saying that a rising rate 1.1 regulator is what i'd be looking for?

If this is on a Gen 2 then you should be looking at sorting out your fuel rail as well. With the amount of fuel the walbro moves there will be serious pressure drop across the fuel rail meaning the pressure at each injector along the rail is lower than the one before it. The rail needs to be bored out or replaced, this is especially problematic if you go for bigger injectors.
Other than that as everyone knows a rising rate reg is really a crutch and running the injectors flat out means your one spec of rubish through the fuel filter away from a toasted engine.
If possible please get the rail sorted and the bigger injectors, otherwise at least shoot for a sustainable duty cycle on the injectors.
Good info guys, I've been umming and ahhing about the same thing on my 3S, had some 540's in there running on a rough tune on the Wolf, until one of the injectors f*cked out, and I had to throw the stockies back in with the stock ecu. Months later, I've still got the wolf sitting here, as well as a walbro and a Sard FPR.
Josh: Is boring the rail out actually effective, or even modifying it for dual feed which I've seen people do?
Would love to get a Wolfkatz rail or similar, but they are kinda exxy.

You will need to address the fuel rail issue (as previously stated) or its going to cause an imbalance of pressure to the injectors when you get the walbro in.
Road and track up in queensland can drill it out to 8mm and weld up the end for $100.

upgrade the fuel rail like everyone else has said, it is cheap insurance in the long run.
In terms of how to fit it all up. The line coming from the fuel filter is the pressure line, and thern there is a low pressure line coming off the old pressure regulator. This is the line you need to put your new regulator in.

I read the wolfkatz link, i will be looking at upgrading the rail very soon. atm if i lift the base pressure from 42 to 50 (which is the plan) its only a 9% increase asking for the stock rail to handle. I thought that would be fairly "safe"?
