removing rear shocks from 93/94 wide body camry

question from my dad,
we gota change the shockies in the beast
just wondering how? also, any tips?

unbolt them and pull them out?

If they are McPherson struts - Unbolt strut tops from the strut tower, then unbolt the strut from the hub assembly - you may need a hammer to coax those locating bolts out. Compress the spring with a spring compressor, undo the top nut in the strut 'hat' and remove the spring. Put spring on new shock/strut, place rubber 'hat' on the strut and tighten up the top nut (bearing in mind the alignment of the hat in relation to the strut), re-install the strut, release the spring compressor, get a wheel alignment.

is the suspension on your car complete struts when u change them or replace the inserts in them or both ?
