w58 slave cylinder rod length

As the title says, im trying to find out the length of the little rod that goes between the slave cylinder and the clutch fork.?

the length outside the rubber boot is about 9mm, the total length is about 64mm

unless you have played with the thickness of the flywheel.
trial and error, put on in, see whats its doing, lengthen or shorten accordingly. go long to start with, much easier to shorten a bit than cut a new peice and dome the ends off again...

When I've made them in the past, I did it before adding fluid etc to make it easier, and made the length of the rod so that with the release bearing resting lightly on the diaphram, the slave is fully bottomed out, and then shorten it up a few mm (like maybe 4-5ish) to allow for clutch wear.
It will pay for you to check it now and then and make sure theres still freeplay (ie: the slave isn't bottomed out) but it should be fine.

Don't let the piston bottom out.
As the pushrod & fork & pivot & release bearing wear, the piston moves outward, But as the clutch disk & flywheel surface & pressure plate surface wear, the piston moves inward. It can & will bottom out without enough clearance.
5mm on the disk will be at least 10 at the slave.
