If you want a T50 in your Ke2x-3x-5x but dont want to cut a hole in the trans tunnel you will need to use a ta22 style tailhousing. Also if your ta22 t50 has broken down, take parts of it and put on to newer box. Here are some tips on how to get forward shifter position on any T50.

Parts needed

Gasket and seal kit is 04331-14030

Here is a mini writeup of the t50 tailmod if anyone is interested.

Take off bellhousing - 7 bolts straight forward

Push shiftershaft forward and knock in lockpin of endpiece
of shaft. (the bit the shifter goes into.)
Undo bolts of tailhousing and remove.

Remove 2 bolts holding smal plate and 3 springs and balls

Put gearbox on the side and remove all bolts holding the 2
halves together. Split by lightly knocking top half off.

Remove ball for reverse switch and small ball for locking layshaft bearing.
Now is a good time for washing the internals. I use kerosine
and a paintbrush that doesnt shed hairs.

Lift out layshaft and wrap it in a clean rag
Lift out main shaft and wrap it in a clean rag

Your now left with this

Knock the fork lockpins INN so the forks are loose on the shafts.
1. pull out the top short shaft.
2. pull out the bottom shaft
3. pull out the center shaft
Important thing is center shaft last out- first inn.

Take care not to loose the oblong "balls" that interlock the shafts.
These have to go in in following order :
Centershaft inn -flip housing- ball in-bottom shaft inn - flip-
ball in- top shaft inn.

Done deed. Caliper shows pos. for reverse ball and layshaft lockball

The rest is just reverse order.. Good idea to renew all gaskets and seals when its apart.

Hope I managed to confuse somebody so it wasnt a total waste of time. -Tor.
