Hay peoples
Just giving you a heads up that on the 31st of December i'll be having a closed practice
day at the dirt track at Willowbank.There will be myself and one other car there.

Open invitation to any one that wants to come for a look and a ride.You may be able to take your own car for a few laps.need to bring a helmet just in case.

I'll repost this when it gets a little closer to remind everyone.
Oh... just in case you dont know me, i'm the guy with the yellow 22 at Nossa.
Hope to see you there , it'll be heaps cool fun.

Grant - i think a few toyota car club (qld) would be quite interested in this ;-)

what time on that day? and would you need some kind of financial contribution to offset hire cost if soeone did a few laps? (i'm guessing that you're talking about the IWMAC track on the left before you get to Qld Raceway?)

and would the track owners want to see a 2S licence?

No need for a licence on a closed practice day , just the usual safety gear (helmet, neck to ankle clothing)

As for cost i was going to do this anyway so no need for $$ , but i'll need to check with my navigator (who'll have his Rx7 there, to make shaw hes cool with this as hes sharing the cost with me)
If itsonly a few laps then i dont think it'll be a prob.

I'll be there just about all day , will prob have a few beers and a BBQ after see how i go.

This was taken earlier this year at the Qld Challenge, a touring road event. We finished 1st for all the speed trails but stuffed up on the navigating

At this stage Sunday is still agoer , even if we get showers we will still headout , just means we wont have to water the track .

I'll be out there about 9.30 - 10.00 and depending on the sky we'll be having a BBQ out there around 3.30 .

A big thanks to Grant (boyracer) for taking me some low-level flying laps around the autokhana track at Willowbank.

For those who missed out, his 2TG-powered TA22 is an impressive, powereful track/rally car that we'll hopefully see more of in competition.



Plus .... going sideways is so much fun when your right foot remains firmly planted on the loud pedal

As for the ride in the REX , well i've been in these cars before and i forgot how dam quick these things are and how much grip they generate, And your car is no exception !!!! GREAT FUN !!!

how much gravel rash do you get on the paint work around the wheel arches? id love to give it a go, but not sure how the car would handle it...

Yeah the wheel arches do cop a little reef rash . Some of the guys run mudflaps on the driving wheels just for the day ,an others have been seen putting a clear vinyl on the sides.

Just depends on how much you treasure your paintwork i guess, if you have a look at Nev's REX he hasn't got any and its not to bad .

Should come out and have a look on the 11th ..

Or the other thing we could do is organize a private day for everyone ???

clear vinyl wouldnt bother me i dont think, id probably leave it on for a month at a time though
