As some of you would know, Bathurst-91, the chad and myself have been throwing around the idea of a full-on circuit day, dedicated to our glorious machinery.
What we have in mind is something like having individual sprint laps, 1/8th mile drags, and dorifuto, with a point scoring or time for each and using an eliminations format resulting in final rounds and possibly a lap battle with the top cars.
The aim is to have the best AE86s and their drivers battling it out to become the country's hachi king, with points from each event combining for a total score.
Let us know what you guys think, and take a look at the Japanese N2 cup for inspiration on the circuit racing aspect.
Cheers,
Jeremy.

My 86 will pw3nd j00
I am wondering that seeing as a turbo hachi will most likely be faster than a n/a
we should have turbo's in one category and n/a in another. for the racing that is..
But the timed sprint laps should be all rated together.
Maybe over the period of a few events at different circuits?
cheers

this would definitely be awesome....so keen.....
or would it be better to have street car track car classes?
or we should all buy ke70s and go rally followed by destruction derby![]()
Yep, that's a good point man. So you mean having different categories for drags?
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "turbo's in one category and n/a in another. for the racing that is.. But the timed sprint laps should be all rated together."
Cheers,
Jeremy.
i am in for sure.
kinda like that...
but like it is a bit unfair a fresh person in the scene with 4ac etc, upagainst something like raceflos 859825724871 hp 86 u know?
but have a full comparison at the end...who did what, focus things on TIME not 1 on 1, i dont want to see any smashed ae86
ke70 for 1 on 1 hahahaha
seriously i would donate a ke70 for the cause of one on one racing
im in like sin
you can organise it on our new website in feb/march
make the first official event too if you like![]()

maybe have 4ac class and 4age class, then a forced induction class, i dunno
burn out comp???? hahahahahaha
Definately on time man, but with an actual race between the top guys (say, top 6/8/10) - I'm thinking these guys will prolly have a clue and it should be pretty clean.Originally Posted by truenosedan
What you have to remember is that power isn't everything. With only a 20V and pretty ordinary suspension I was able to take twin turbo Supras and the like at Wakefield (not being a blow arse, just as an example), and 4A-C-powered AE86s with good suspension are notoriously good on winding roads.
Personally I would really like to see someone with an N/A hachi with decent suspension and a good amount of driver talent beat all of us turbo guys! After all, it would just showcase what our cars are!
Food for thought.
Well we need twisty tracks.
I think the top guys should have a mini championship.. like 3 rounds at different circuits?

i think we will do one track day as a test to see what the turn out will be, with a plan to devalop the series inwhich track days will be held on other states..

As I said before, we have to make it accessable for all states. What about Perth? I guess they are too far away from everywhere!Originally Posted by Evan

Wakefield would be easy enough to organise I think, but may just be that little bit too far for the Adelaide boys.
Sounds cool, But i think having a multi meet challenge on different circuits could be expensive for just a few drivers, EC for example costs a fortune.
Also, as far as different classes go, it might need to be set up into at least 3 classes, if not 4. Stock, Modified (4ac), modified NA and modified SC/TC.
or you could look at the way hillclimbs/targa events are run, with individual time goals, as well as an overall weiner.
Wakefeild is pretty accesible price wise though, as its main bread and butter is club racing, so things are fairly cheap
This is the prices as to date for hiring wakefield seen that would be the go
