Hi all
round 2 of the sport compact championship is on the 17/12/2005 at WSID. I would ask that any one interested come and watch this meet, or even better have a run in competition racing.
We need to show WSID the potential of sport compact racing as currently they are very enthused about it, where as willowbank in qld they love it.
at worst you will see the cressida run a ten which is worth the $15 spectator fee in my book. there is no dancing bikini comps or any of that ricer fast and the furious crap, unfortunately it was given a ricer name for the event, but any who, there will be good drag racing, there should be 2 9 sec street tyres GTR's in my class and 1 10 sec GTR. thats worth a look also,
some come on boys and girls, i would love to see a big toymods stand with pom poms cheering me on from the side line.
look forward to seeing you all there

Any chance my TT V8 GT4 Celica would fit in a class? Jap car, jap engine??
Justen
currently v8's are not permitted under sport compact rules.
what i would do if i were you is send an email to ray box from small car productions who is helping wsid orgainse the event and ask could you run it as a demo vehicle. that would mean you arent in a class and are not able to win prize money, but it would mean oyu should get in a decent amount of runs.
i believe they are interested in having demo vehicle there which are of a not ordinary nature which i am sure a v8 powered gt4 would fit into.

Gotta be worth a try i guess
I gave Ray an email and no go i'm afraid. I can't make the 26th either (even if there were spots) so looking like a while yet unless i can make a street meet one wed
so any one going to make the trip out and be my cheer squad?
yeah ill try and be there for sure
should run the corolla if i could afford some tires

i looked through my sport compact rule book last night, there is a exhibtion car allowance made. which means if there is a small field they bring out exhibtion fields to excite the crowd. i know you have tried with ray all ready but i think its worth another try. i will email him too. thats if the 17th dec is an ok day for you.
shane.
Gotta be worth a try i guess Shane. What are the chances of a small field though? With enough notice i can be ready for the 17th
i would say highly likely, i know a lot of the guys from my crew rx engineering arent going to make it do to work commitments or car not ready. so theres at least 8 regulars that wont make it.
Never been to a drag meet before, might come down for a watch to see the mighty cressida in action and grab some photos. Probably not the best time of year to be hosting a drag event ie atm its either pissing down with rain or boiling hot, also being close to chrissie many will be busy.
Anyways if I have nothing on that weekend i'll probably come out and have a gander.
we need entires guys 2 weeks out and there are only 18 competitors have their entries in.
that leaves a lot of spots for front wheel drive cars to enter.
$500 for a win, come on, you rock up even if you run 15's all day if your consitant you will take home $500 and a trophy.
all motor class only has 2 entries, theres money there to be won.
car wont be ready for this one![]()

ie less than 60. so i would say it might be a chance.
I have dropped Ray another email, see what happens.
well it was a damn hot day, 60deg intake temps, ran a best of 11.1et at 123mph on fresh MT et street radials.
qualified 3rd from 30, only came in behind 2 gtr's one runnning 9.4 and the other 10.4.
won first round elimnator, got knocked out 2nd round after breaking out , drove around the skyline in the other lane and dabbed the brakes a couple of time but broke out by 0.05 to be kicked.
was a good day, nothing broke, car was good, these MT et street radials are showing potential to be better than the BF's, just need to test them when the weather is a lot cooler.
Nice work Shane,
Obviously i couldn't work anything out with Ray so just have to wait until the next street meet ot try out my ET Streets.
Nice pics.
Shame the majority of sport compact fans aren't actually interested in watching racing isn't it. Sounded like a good event from what I read on Dragster though.
it was well organised i thought, it was run more like a bracket meeting which is the way it should be.
over the xmas break i will be getting some more weight out i think. maybe go up a jet size, i hear they make a 2000hp jet now.![]()
I agree. I thought it was a fantastic event with heaps of nice cars running quick, the odd accident, and plenty of excitement. And I also agree that it's a shame that the fans aren't actually interested in watching it. There was maybe 1,000 to 2,000 people there ffs. Way to get more of these events at our localOriginally Posted by 1JZ.747
