Default AE86 HSD coilovers now available

    AE86 coilover kit now available

After a long time in R&D (couple of years actually) we are proud to release the new HSD HR-type coilover kit for AE86 Sprinter, Trueno, Levin and equivalent Toyota chassis numbers.

This is a true bolt-in kit, with all the best stuff for this model.

The front units feature and inverted mono-tube damper, with a special offset pillow-ball camber plate that also gives a caster increase.

The inverted damper means you have a thick top shaft for maximum strength and reduced unsprung weight. A complete stub-axle is included, with roll-centre adapters and longer bolts under the unit to reduce bump-steer. As the damper is inverted the adjuster is hidden inside the base, so for easy adjustment an extended adjustment knob is included, with a stay to keep it out of harm's way. Like all HSD HR-type coilovers, the height adjustment is made at the base of the unit and there is a slot cut in the side so you can easily see how much lower or higher you can go.

The rear features adjustable-length mono-tube dampers with 15-step damping adjustment, plus an adjustable spring seat and new short spring. As this kit is designed for drift and race AE86 cars the included spring rates are 8kg front and 6kg rear. Any rate can be swapped into the front, but at this stage 6kg is the only rate for the rear. More rates will be available according to demand.

Due to the complexity of the kit the price is a little higher than other HR-type kits at $1899, but this is still miles cheaper than equivalent kits from Japan.

Go to the HR page to order your set now!

so, can i begin the demand for 8.5 kg rear springs to match a set of 10kg fronts??? I guess I can survive with the "normal" 8 front 6 rears for now though...

So I guess I better order some.

    Order indeed.

I'll see what i can do for the 8.5kg springs but as we only do whole Kg springs you might end up with 9kgs?

And yes these are great bang for buck.

    Cheers,

Hmmm... I guess I'd want 12kg fronts then to maintain the right front to rear ratio. wow, it's getting stiffer and stiffer. (as the actor said to the bishop)

Fronts will be no worries. Rears will take some time.

Give me a buzz if you like.

If they are anything like the BC coil over set-up you can tuck quite a bit of tire under the guard on there lowest setting.

    G'day,

what brakes fit the front struts? is it just the standard AE86 caliper bolt spacing?

    cheers,

Hey Stomps, they should be 200mm free height and thus interchangeable.

    Grant,

Are the rear shocks/springs setup available seperatly ? I am led to beleive that the AE86 rear shocks will fit a TA22 so these could be an awesome option for the back of Classic Celica's.

If the rears are available seperatly I'd like to check it out.

And are 6kg rears still the only option ?

Can you sell parts seperately Grant? for instance, just fronts, or just camber tops etc?

hi guys, sorry they are sold as complete sets at this stage. If two parties are interested in a rear pair and front pair i suggest they sort it out amongst themselves and split a whole set.

    Cheers
