    Default Forums Rules Acceptance

    Guys,

The board is starting to implement some of the new features of the forum software.

One of these is the new Forum rules tab up next to the FAQ tab.

Before you can post again you will need to accept the rules.

There it a timer at the bottom of the forum rules page that counts down before you can accept. So whilst waiting, you might as well read them.

    Cheers
    Simon

Just because you got one doesn't mean you have to be one.

On mine the 180s wasnt 180s. Was more like 720s, given that it went from dummy grid to post first corner in race F1 in the time that it took to run down.

Great work guys. I read them after realising I actually had to due to the timer and noticed there were a number of things I could brush up regarding my conduct on here. So they have had the desired effect.

    cheers

In addition to the General forum rules, ther is now a pull down at the top for the specific sections rules. (Classifieds specific, Tech Specific, Cruise and Event specific.)

This means you will have to sit through the timer in those 3 sections before you can post as well (first time only unless the rules change or users need "reminding")

Ok so i accepted the rules to post in one section of the classifieds

and now its telling me i have to accept them again to post in another section

How many times do i have to do this because it is pissing me off!

i mean, is this really necessary??

Yeah, It is definatly necessary, But you shouldn't need to sit throught it in 2 different classifieds sections.

    I'll check that.

Should only require it once per section now (ie once for General, Once for classifieds, Once for cruises etc.) that should cover all sections inside of the parent section.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

    y0.

Seeing as the general rules come out with each section can you just put all the rules on one page? Seeing as each sub section is only small anyway?

Even if you have separate tick boxes for each section and then the submit button at the end?

(I think if there are any updates for one subsection its not a bad idea to refresh peoples memory on the other rules at the same time, i dont foresee many updates anyway??)

The general part is the part you agreed to when you signed up so needs to be separated.

The other areas are broken out for ease of linking to later, and the future roll out of new features kind of needs separation.

Ummm... minor typo... did anyone else spot it???

I loved the abbreviated version. Sums it up nicely. And the countdown timer? Brilliant!

An idea that most all forums (or anything online that has a legal obligation people using it must understand) should adopt.

I'd start with 300 lb on the front and about 200lb on the rear. You might end up needing a bit more on the front though.

FWIW the 'counter' doesn't work properly with the Opera browser, you have to keep moving the mouse for about five minutes to get the numbers to count down, as they only decrease with the mouse moving.
    Very annoying.

*points above* See, that wasn't the thread I posted in.
    Something's screwed up here.
I also couldn't read the rules because I had to flick my mouse around over the test so much.
