Yep, been having trouble on and off for ages. Sometimes I can't access the site at all, other times when I do, it's amazingly slow. Tonight for example it's taken near 30 minutes of trying before I could get on. It's only this site as well.

its something to do with the server. I think i read somewhere that they are changing servers/hosting, so hopefully that should fix it!

To my mind there are three main suspects.

Slowest site to load for me too. period.

Often pages don't load, even after 15 or more minutes.

Ironically it has taken me about 1/2hr to read this thread and another 10 mins to post .
Sometimes it is ok and pages load normally, sometimes it is slow and it says in the bottom left corner of the page "Waiting for" followed by whatever page you are trying to access and sometimes it just says it can't open the page.

Guys.. we're currently in the middle of upgrading to a new hosting server... things will get better real soon, if you can just hang on a little longer. We've unfortunately come accross a few snags during this process, which has dragged out the timeframe somewhat.

How about all the guys that are not finanical club members donate $1 to the club for using the forums. That would be over 10,000 bux and we would have the best darn forum around

Im sure mods could post bank details for all the whiner's...........

Its the server. The number of hits we get is massive and the actual hardware is 3years old and the comms links to it are not the fastest. It has had its time and, as Keanu said, we are in the middle of moving the site over to a much more powerful system, with full DRP and very fast comms. Hopefully you will notice and appreciate the performance gains we get with the new system.

We also have requested the new server to be sheilded in a concrete bunker, lined with lead and gold to ensure it is safe from the LHC.

Alas, there is little we can do about Tom's post whoring, except to admire his ability to command a high paying test job where most of his testing seems to be in loading the Toymods server!

Judging by those comments River, I assume Dav is going to move up the list of Toymods hottest men when the list is revised at toyotafest?

Particularly since dong and jcmf are now married, which immediately lowers their hotness

thanks for the replies, i was not aware of the server doobie change.

a mild non car club 'forum users' fee as mentioned above would not scare me off if it were to help the forum.

I've been taking it easy today as my actual testing job has been requiring my partial attention, I guess this can be some kind of 'anti-stress test' for the current server before we migrate.

And thank god its high paying, all the Hams and Dead Cat removalists aren't cheap you know. (I bet you all knew)
