Default AE86 JDM loom plug identity

Have finally pulled out the old adapted ADM loom and am putting in a full JDM 4AGE loom. The section of loom that enters the engine bay from the drivers side footwell (from junction box 1) has a rectangular 4 pin (2 up 2 down) female plug inside the engine bay along side the brake fluid warning light and the washer pump. I can't identify it and it doesn't appear on my electrical wiring diagram book (1983). The wire colours are yellow, light green/red, red/blue (2 wires) & yellow/red. I am guessing it is some sort of brake master cylinder warning light? Obviously not essential, but interested to know what it is.

Anyone know, or can have a look at their loom, drivers side , under bonnet, next to the brake fluid warning plug and washer pump?

    ive got:
a 2 wire to the brake master
a 2 wire to what looks like some kind of solenoid
and a 4 wire plug with the same coloured wires you stated going into it
    its not plugged into anything

    so i think your safe

(ps my car is a 1986 JDM ae86)

Thanks for having a look. Now I'm curious, I might hit the JDM books and see if I can work out what it is.

    haha good idea
can you tell me what the little solenoid in the top driver corner of the engine bay does at the same time?

If you mean the one that has the washer lines connected, I am sure it is to keep up pressure to the washer line to the rear hatch.

Does the ge have an AC idle up solenoid or is it done by the ecu? The 4ac has one mounted on the drivers strut tower at the front of it.

Thanks, yes it does have an a/c idle up but is located in the same spot as with the 4AC. Looks a bit different though. I reckon this plug is for some sort of master cylinder failure warning, though a spare Jap booster & master cylinder I have doesn't have anything to plug it into. Little things like this always get me curious.......... Sad I know.

The 2 wire solenoid is the rear washer diversion as you thought.

And im pretty sure that the plug is emissions related.

When there are 6 sprinters in the one workshop, and you work on one almost every day, then you pick up a few things.

Actually pretty much all toyotas have those little solenoids.

Had a fun couple of hours perusing the Toyota Levin & Trueno mags, always a drool fest! Esp Vol 4 where they make a mint 2 door out of all new OEM parts. Takai was on the money, the 4 pin plug goes to a VSV which manages the EGR system where fitted. Don't think we shall worry about that then!
