    VVTi pistons have deeper flycuts, shorter skirts and are lighter (384 vs 356 grams). Other than that, piston height is the same and the ring lands (I think) are the same too. I have pics, will upload when I get home.

    Just a note on a skirt difference I observed between 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE non-VVTi OEM pistons.
    2JZ-GTE skirts are notched to clear the oil squirters in 2JZ-GTE blocks whereas 1JZ-GTE pistons are not notched and would foul on the oil squirters if the piston wasn't modified or the oil squirters weren't removed when used in a 2JZ-GTE block.

    manny it only looks that way in the pictures because the 2jz piston has a slightly longer skirt. The notch is still there in the 1jz piston just its not as pronounced due to the shorter skirt, and also above the gudgeon pin area its narrower on the 1jz piston also giving a false impression.
    I actaully thought the same thing when i was taking the photos until i had a closer look.

    Gentlemen Reliable combustion chamber cc's 1JZGE====41.4 cc
    1JZGTE===41.4 cc
    2JZGE====44.4 cc
    2JZGTE====47.8 cc
    Anybody want to say these are not accurate????
    Now when I put the 1JZGE pistons into the 2JZGE block with
    a 2JZGE head and 0.3 head gasket What is the CR?????

    I don't want to say that they aren't accurate...

    But they do seem to go against a few other peoples measured values...? GT got 42ml I think it was for the 2jzge head?

    Aria claim 45cc for the 2jzgte...

    JE claim 44.5cc for the 2jzgte...

    I now have my 50ml burette so I can measure 1JZ-GTE Head and piston, and at a later date (when the engine is apart) 2JZGE...

    Going off your data tho I get ~2.37cc for 1jzge piston dish...
    And 11.29 CR with 2JZ block, 2jzge head and 1jzge piston and 0.3mm head gasket...

    If anyone has any heads or pistons they want to loan me in the Brisbane area that I can measure that would be great?!

    I spent some of the morning CCing Various 1JZGTE bits...

    1JZGTE Head: With plug, 11111-88400 Casting: 43.0cc

    1JZGTE Piston, In bore @ TDC: 6.3cc

    That works out to a CR of 8.28 with a 1.3mm HG...

    Wonder what I am missing...

    Heading back out to the shed, it turns out that my 50ml burette is now about 18ml...somehow it broke while I was inside

    Cheers
    Wilbo
