Default Ma61 Fuel Pump, went to swap it for a Walbro intank pump But ITS GONE

I was going to install a friends in tank Walbro that i recently bought into my MA61, but bugger me where the hell is it, It took out what i pressumed was the fuel pump but it was just the fuel sender. Anyone know where the bastard thing is located, and please don't tell me its a tank out job. What have others done in this situation, external fuel pump ETC
    Thanks

on a sprinter tank at least there are two plates on the top of the fuel tank, one is the sender, one is the pickup (where you stick a swimmer pump if you like fuel surge) i'd imagine the similar vintage MA61 would be the same. if so, you will need to drop the tank, which is not such a big deal, just make sure it's near empty before you start.

I could be wrong, but I thought the MA61 was external? My TA63 was, fuel pump mounted of the IRS subframe.

you have to drop the tank to get access to the oz MA61 fuel pump - the fuel-level sender is accessible while tank is still attached to the car.

edit: is relatively easy to get the tank out - you just:
-remove the body seal around the filler pipe at the petrol cap
-undo the wires going to fuel-level sender
    -jackup car onto jack-stands
-get under car and disconnec the three fuel lines (to-engine, from-engine, to-charcoal cannister
-drain fuel from tank (andmarvel at the amount of crap in the tank)
-undo the two 17mm (?) bolts holding on the tank straps
-nearly forgot ... support tank with something
-lower tank - you have to move it towards the passenger side as it lowers down
-get out from under car and remove dirt/crap that has fallen into your face and eyes
    -swap stuff over

installing it is the reverse of above (except for last point)

    cheers,
    Charles.

I thought it was, but i want sure so i didnt reply.
Its easy to drop. All you have to do is take detach the fuel lines and then undo the 2 bolts holding the tank in and the bolts around the filler neck and out she comes.
Getting the pump out is a little more difficult. Once you've undone the bolts ontop of the tank holding the pump in, you have to wriggle and move the pump around at all angles so it comes out. Thats becuase of the baffles inside the tank you see.
Putting it back in is harder becuase you have to wiggle it around at the same angles to get it back in.

Remember to de-pressurize the system before undoing your lines .

I have a RA-63 and I had to mount and external pump under the car too (went EFI). Can anyone post a pic of this original external fuel pump and its original location? I think both cars would be similar down there.
