return to post you repped, can it happen?

well, im not one to complain usually...
but i just think this may increase the amount of rep people give out
when i rep someone and the page reloads it loads at the top of the page i was reading rather than the post i just repped
so what happens is i get lazy and cant be bothered to run back through and find where i was up to so jus dont bother to rep someone.
i assume other people have a similar problem...
so im just wondering is there a way of making the thread return to the post you were up to?

i just thought it would be a simple suggestion that maybe people had looked over

what i have found is the best way for doing this is right clicking on the reputation icon and then select "open link in new window" .....then you do the rep thing...then just close the said window......that way the page/scroll position hasnt moved

Yeah, this should be easy. All they need to do is put an new page target into the link, assuming they have access to that bit of code (assume they would).

I have a better suggestion though. Why not have the rep come up as a bit of dynamic javascript HTML code? So when you click on 'add rep' a little text box, the 'pos/neg' and a 'submit' button all come up at the top of the post (replacing the rep button). When you click submit, it opens a new popup window, that does the database call, then closes itself down. So it'd just pop up for an instant saying "rep added" or "can't add rep" then you're back on your merry way.

... Hell I could program this for you in an afternoon if you like. It's not a complex bit of javascript. Do you guys use the DOM compliant method for this sites Javascript?

or even simpler. when u press on rep. IT opens a new window for you to give rep. then you close it when done.
