    Default 7AFE difference between BHP rating's 105-110-116-118-120?

    Hello!

    I know im posting a lot around the 7afe and im sorry about that.

    But here is another question, i have a 7afe from a corolla ae115 4wd which have 110 bhp. Which seems to be the normal powerrating of the 7afe except USA smogged of 105.

    But i know that russia and indonesia got a 120 bhp one. But i also just found out that the Celica 7afe in sweden have 116bhp?

    Also it seems like the corolla sprinter had 118bhp?

    My question is, what's make the bhp difference? i think that the second gen 4afe got different cam which bumped it from 110 to 115 bhp. Is it the same for the 7afe?

    Or is it just strictly ecu tunes?

    Why im asking is that i can get my hand's on a Celica head and ecu. So easy 6bhp, just wonder were they come from? might just be able to switch ecu?

    //thanks and cheers

    Probably a number of things, exhaust, and cat can make quite a difference as you said camshaft, compression ratio, ECU tune, ignition and fuel maps, and how much the EGR comes on, also the rev limiter. I read somewhere there are several versions of the head also. Also, there are different version of the intake manifold. oh and thick and thin head gaskets.

    That's true, might be the headers as well! Very hard to find what's difference but had a check at megazip to find anything with a change in partnumber but cant find anything.
    But dont seems to be cams, exhaust, EGR (if not only different operation?).

    I know there are som variant of the intake for the head dependent if it's lean-burn and so on. the russian variant of 120 seem to be the leanburn without emission i guess?

    But between the 110 and 116 it's seems to be exactly the same part's so im guessing it's like you said with just difference in the ecu!
