Default verifying terminals on coil packs. R35 coil wiring

On the terminals of a coil pack, is there a way to determine which is + which is - and which is signal wire, by measuring resistance?

I need to wire up some R35 coils but havn't yet found any trustworthy info of which pin is which.

On the 2NZ coil terminals (unsure of condition of the one tested)
12v+ to ground is about 1.7k Ohms
    12v+ to signal is > 2k Ohms
ground to signal is about 0.3k Ohms

    On my R35 coil
Pin 1 to Pin 2 is about 1.4k Ohms
    Pin 1 to Pin 3 is > 2k Ohms
    Pin 2 to Pin 3 is > 2k Ohms

I'm suspecting pins 1 and 2 are ground and signal, and that pin 3 is 12v+

Can anyone confirm which pin is which on the Nissan R35 coil packs?

    This article... https://www.efisolutions.com.au/asse...als/200041.pdf
... suggests that the wiring should be like this...

    Maybe that helps ?

Yeah I see, maybe thats what I'll try it with, I'm not sure whats the worst that can happen if its wired wrong though.
I'm actually having to crimp and wire up the connectors themselves.

I tried hooking up one R35 coil to test it (with my old 2nzfe coils still connected on the 3 other cylinders), I used the wiring from the picture above.
It seemed to work, as soon as I disconnected the R35 coil, it ran on 3 cylinders only. So I think this confirms that this wiring is correct.

Good work. That's the best way to test COP's as they are very difficult to bench test without a bunch of specialised equipment.

I threw a bit of light on your pic so that you can see which way up the clip goes.

I'm running a brand new set of Chinese 1NZ COP's on my 16V 4AGE and they are working fine, or at least as good as the 20 year old OEM COP's I was using before. Set of four from China cost less than one new coil from Toyota. I read that R35 COP's are supposed to be the shit for hard to light engines.

But I think I might try a set of NGK EIX fine wire plugs first to see if that helps with a niggly little misfire I am getting. Just recently I am reading that there are people having good success running them on boosted engines.

    Cheers... jondee86
