Angry Wats up with all the "Russian" spam ?????

How long does it take for someone to turn off self approved registrations or whatever method is being used to get this flood of foreign language spam on the forums ???? Gotta be easier to block them before they post rather than have to go thru and delete the spam posts after they have polluted the forums.

    Cheers... jondee86

The little freckles have found other ways of registering whilst looking like humans, I've altered some settings to see if that slows them down.

i've been deleting a fucktonne of accounts daily. hopefully a fix will be found, otherwise it will mean we need to go back to manual approvals, which is not ideal

Yuss... I moderate on another forum which has had to resort to manual approval, and I am deleting around 30 new registrations per day from spammers. It is a bit of a chore but I don't mind doing it, as I hate those cnuts messing up forums !!!

Unhappy Re: Wats up with all the "Russian" spam ?????

Nice try but no prize, this time

According to Darwin’s Origin of Species, it is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.

Does this mean that we will eventually live in a world dominated by spammers ?

I think the last few were ones that had already signed up and just waited a week or so before posting, so any changes made in the last few days wouldn't have done anything.

Any Board elections happening soon? Could be trying to influence the outcome.
