Default 1JZ in MA61 NO COLD START?

I've just purchaced my second (in a long list of cars) MA61, its got a 1jzgte installed. My problem is that there seems to be no cold start at all. When i start in the morning i have to keep the revs up or immediately stalls out, when the car gets upto normal temp its fine.
I've tried taking out the ecu fuse in the engine bay but it did nothing (big green fuse in the fuse box)
    Any help would be great

When the car turns off does the ISCV close? You should be able to hear it move if you get someone else to turn the engine off, The ISCV is located at the rear of the inlet manifold on the engine side, it has a black metal cover and connects to the manifold with two nuts.

The ISCV is a valve that the ECU uses to let more / less air past the throttle to control the engines idle RPM.

When you turn the engine off the ECU should move the ISCV to the fully open position, it does this so that it knows where it is for next time! ISCV should be powered by a relay which is controlled via the ECU via the M-REL output. Having the ECU switch the M-REL allows the ISCV to keep power after the ignition has been removed (the ecu senses this and then moves the ISCV and then cuts power to the M-REL). Depending on how your car has been wired up this may not be the case?

My suggestion would be to first remove the ISCV and check that it isn't gummed up and dirty (stopping it from moving). If it is dirty try and clean it with something like carby cleaner. If it looks fine then I would check that there is voltage at B1/B2 after ign has been switched off for a moment. If there isn't then you may have to search through the wiring and sort it out!.

A guide to test the 7M-GTE (MA70) ISCV is here

    1JZ-GTE should be very similar!

    Cheers

After reading this thread I'm wondering if your Idle Air Control Valve is hooked up at all?

a picture is worth a thousand poorly described engine parts.

I don’t think the ISCV needs to be “connected” to that pipe that goes from one side of the engine to the other near the turbos as it just opens and gets air anyway.

Pics would definitely help though. Sorry, I haven’t had stock turbos or ISCV for long time so no piccies here

i suspect if its not connected to the other side, it might be blocked so as not to vent boost or something?

There is a one way check valve inbetween the ISCV and where it bolts to the inlet so it wouldn't (shouldn't :S) be venting boost if it isn't connected round to the turbo side....and it should still work as chris said!

Also if you're in Bris and want to bring it round so I can have a look you're welcome to

    Cheers

    The sound maybe the injectors.

1JZ-GTE doesn't have hydrulic lifters so it can't be that.

Do you want to tell folks where you are? I've offered to help as has Chris, perhaps if you let us know where you are someone near you can offer an hand?

    Cheers
