    Default aw11 firewall heatshielding

I'm looking at what to do about the old heat resistant stuff on the firewall (is it fibreglass?).
With it in mind there will be a turbo/manifold potentially red hot, which could transfer a fair bit of heat through the firewall

    1. I could just remove it all completely, then give the firewall a coating of high temp paint, not worrying about heat transfer.
Is there any particularly magic paint-like stuff I could simply spray on that would insulate and fireproof?

    2. remove it, and stick some sort of heatshielding material on it eg http://www.carbuilders.com.au/PeelandStickHeatShield
any recommendations for good heat insulation material?

    3. Get hold of new stuff the same as whats on there?

    4. Just leave it there, its pretty much in tact, maybe fit a steel panel on there where the heat will be highest, worry about other engine bay parts instead.

My turbo/zorst manifold caused the death of my Adubs firewall insulation even tho I had a reasonable heat shield over the manifold and wastegate pipe.
Next time athe stick on round I plan to use the stick on reflective style insulation from the link you posted, get the manifold, turbine housing and dump pipe ceramic coated, wrap the manifold and dump pipe with insulation and get a beany for the turbine housing.

Both Harreh and myself have used the DEI reflect-a-cool adhesive heat shield. It is SUPER thin which is great for clearance to bulky turbo manifolds and intercooler pipes, and it sticks really well. It also works very well even though it's so thin.

I just got a huge-ass sheet from summit and cut it to suit. It might be cheaper to buy local these days with the exchange rate being what it is

Yeah, thin looks like it would be an advantage. Looks like you've left a lot of the factory insulation there, and just removed/replaced in the area on the right side where exhaust heat is.
You removed the plastic cover thing that covers the evap stuff also.
