Ok, today I finished stripping the white one, all that's left is the seats, carpet & roof lining, everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING, is in the backyard or shed (apart from the busted bits, they're in the boot).

Only thing I managed to get done today was install the front shocks & springs (Koni reds & dobsons), tomorrow night after work I'll get stuck into the rear shocks & springs (KYBs & dobsons) & maybe chuck in the stereo.

Tomorrow & Fri I'm working 7am till 7pm, so they don't really count as part of the 8 days, then I'm working 7pm till 7am sat & sun night, so I should be able to get a few things done during the day & head off to work for some rest.
I picked up some BA Falcon discs yesterday, I need to get the hubs machined down a bit to suit them, & the R33 calipers should be arriving tomorrow, so if I can get those on & the 5M-GE out by Monday I'll be feeling a bit more confident.

Pics will follow once I'm home during daylight.

Has anyone successfully done the BA upgrade on an MX73 strut/hub ?

Not that I know of, but then again I don't know of anyone who has tried unsuccessfully. The only difference I see between using the BA rotor & a skyline rotor is the extra 9 or 10mm hat height, which saves using the caliper spacer & provides a bit more wheel clearance.

Can you see any problems I may encounter?

Ace, give us a call or just drop round if you're keen mate, I'll be around all day & into the night mon & tues (and the rest of the week for that matter). An extra pair of hands won't go astray, even if they just provide an endless supply of liquid gold nourishment!

AdamCressi, mate come on over, as long as your up for learning more about flying interstate too!
Oh, & if you do come, make sure you bring Bec.

Joel, I'm still going to suggest the same thing - swap all the looms
I can't remember 100% but I'm pretty sure I added (or maybe changed) pins on the large yellow plug to the engine loom, a cable from the fuse box along one air con line, and the cabling to the cluster.
If you just try to plug the engine loom into the unmodified 5M-GE plug you could have problems... you might be ok, but no guarrantees

Yeah Mos, I'm slowly coming to terms with swapping the whole loom, although I still don't want to!
I found some of your handywork when stripping the white one (the cluster cable), but I didn't notice the one from the fuse box....

Yeah yeah, there's no better way to bring the SA Toymods community together than with a rushed engine conversion!

Got my hubs machined today, but my brother cannot find the spare set of hub to disc spacers he had machined up! And just for reference, MX73 & MX83 have the same diameter hub extension bits (so BA disc spacers for an 83 will fit a 73- tops!).

Ah, so it does have a name?! That's the one then!
My brothers spares still havn't turned up..... how quick do you reckon you could spin up a set & forward them here, if things get desperate?

Not that quickly, I get my machinist to do it, not myself.

I have umpteen dozen ones for Skyline discs...

Doh.... no matter, it's not as if brakes are that important anyway! Damn skyline discs, I'd bet any amount of money the mags I have wouldn't fit with the skyline discs!
