TA23 barn find resto

hi guys,

i have uncovered a 1977 toyota celica ta23 thats been sat in a garage 29 years.
i am on the path of restoring it but need some information on whats what really.
has a 2tb engine and i know i need a carb rebuild kit, new filters, fan belt and pipes. going to flush it and run new fluids.
wanting new shocks and lowering springs.
can anyone help out with info what to look out for etc?
new to old school toyotas so im learning still.

- Check body for rust. Lower corners of windscreens, sills below the doors, and quarter panels behind the back wheel are common areas for rust
- Remove and get professionally cleaned the radiator and heat core. Check heater tap for rust
- Replace all body rubbers eg suspension/steering and door seals/windscreen seals. Avoid ebay rubbers from Thailand if possible and use genuine Toyota ones as they fit better. Check with Toyota as you can still order most of these.
- replace/rebuild brake and clutch master cylinder
- rebuild brake calipers with new seals
- replace rubber brake lines

I would suggest new tyres aswell!

Give the fuel tank a good clean too and replace the filters and hoses.
