The Ecopia EP850 brings Bridgestone’s innovative lower rolling resistance tyre technology to 4WDs and SUVs. As the first SUV tyre in the eco-friendly Ecopia range, the EP850 is Bridgestone’s answer to those who value fuel efficiency as well as great handling performance.

Engineered with an almost 20% reduction in rolling resistance compared to its predecessor, the Dueler 683, the Ecopia EP850’s advanced tyre compound results in improved fuel efficiency while still delivering confidence-inspiring performance and safety.

In conventional carbon-reinforced tyre compounds, carbon particles rub together resulting in heat build-up and a loss of energy causing increased rolling resistance. Bridgestone’s Ecopia compound combines silica with a coupling agent to improve particle distribution. This delivers lower rolling resistance resulting in reduced fuel consumption and CO¬2 emissions. You can now go further for less with the EP850.

Independent testing in accordance with ADR81/02 fuel consumption regulations has shown the Ecopia EP850 cuts down your fuel consumption by up to 3.6%. In monetary terms, this is like having a five cent per litre fuel voucher every time you fill up.

“Ecopia EP850 replaces Bridgestone’s Dueler D683, combining all of the luxury performance characteristics of its predecessor with advanced fuel saving technology,” said Claudio Sodano, Bridgestone Australia’s National Technical Field Services Manager.

“It combines the toughness and durability that Dueler is well-known for with the advanced technology benefits of the Ecopia compound. It’s a superior tyre to the D683 in every way.”

The EP850 has been designed with on-road use in mind, and is ideal for city and highway driving. What’s more, its fuel saving benefits come without any compromise to quality, safety or performance.

The Ecopia EP850 incorporates Bridgestone’s latest advanced tyre technology to create a tyre for the vehicles of today, featuring:

• Specifically-formulated Ecopia compound, which optimises the arrangement of polymer and carbon molecules to minimise internal friction and excess energy waste;
• Lower rolling resistance leading to improved fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions;
• 3D tread grooves for superior grip and responsive handling;
• High angle lug blocks for improved braking performance;
• Optimally distributed edges to minimise tread wear.
