Search around a bit more first, you'll find that the bellhousing from a Y series engine (in a hiace or something) will do the job.

Yeah Y series bellhousing is a good one to go for as it puts the starter and clutch on the inlet side of the engine. Leaves more room for turbo/dump pipe.

I used a Y starter motor also with a spacer plate to get it to mesh correctly with the flywheel ring gear.

Clutch fork, slave cylinder was all Y stuff.

You need a double row spigot bearing and a thicker than standard clutch release bearing.

"Y" housing came in Tarago's Lite Aces, Hi Aces and HI Lux. They all bolted behind the 2Y and 3Y engines. The bellhousing will bolt up to a W55/W57, and W58 gearboxes.

    chers Chuck.

I have a winged/trapdoored sump and pickup that I might be able to part with depending on $$$, now moved to a dry sump setup so it is no longer required. PM me

I can probably dig up the part number for the starter motor too.

    Cheers,
    Dave
