    Default Cressida MX83 Series 1 & 2 rear sway bars 16mm and 10mm

    Hi All

I found a towbar at a wreckers at last and while I was removing it I noticed the sway bar looked thicker than mine and measured it up at 16mm series 1. I later measured mine (series 2) at 10mm so off to the wreckers again and checked 3 series 1 cars and all had 16mm (factory by the looks).
Checked the Grande series 2 there and it was 10mm.

Could save people a bit of money instead of buying aftermarket? $19.00 to get the one for mine.
Strange if the factory went thinner later in the production run.
    Cheers

yep, factory went thinner.....s2 has the most pathetic little swaybar i have ever seen, can bend it with my bare hands...S1 is bigger but not much better though..

whiteline bar is where its at...

    Series 1 is actually 14mm, series 2 is 10.

And twin 14's is where its at, forget the pissy 16 or 18mm whiteline single
Actually i think ill go 10/14 when i get mine back on the road, i have 10/10 on there atm but it could be a touch firmer.

I dunno but my whiteline one was a vast improvement over the s1 bar...I actually have a kmac front bar in my parts car, i think its 27mm...but car handles real nice with just the whiteline rear...I'm not sure it needs anymore or ride quality might suffer

sooo...what i was thinking was using the whiteline and the stock 14mm one together to complement the kmac front bar...

not sure if it might be going a bit overboard though and end up with a ride that ducks n dives around too much...what you think?

i did a 14/18 combo for someone once, but must have been pretty stiff.
too much swaybar doesnt really affect ride quality, mainly bodyroll. but you are trading off some traction in order to gain stiffness.

id have 14/14 on a toy/track car and either 10/10 or 10/14 on a daily

when I say ride quality I mean the way it will probably tramline around a bit , especially on the highway with a too much stiffness...might be ok..cant hurt to try i guess..

do you make the clamps to fit dual bars do you?

Yeah thats me. Were you the guy on ebay who bought the 10/16mm ones on ebay this week?

Drove a bone stock s2 for the first time in ages yesterday and got seasick on the first bend. Will be smashing on a set of 10/10 brackets today and that'll be it for suspension on this car.
