    Default 2rzfe + t conversion

    Ok so this all started with wanting to have a largish engine in a smallish car (ae86) the biggest you can fit capacity wise in turbo form is around 2500cc and i wasnt about to jam a 1jz into it as i still want it to handle.

    It was always going to be a toyota engine and there isnt much choice if your're a tight arse like me soooo.... I'm building a 2RZFTE, the 'mericans seem to go pretty well with these in their tacoma's and can take just as much thrashing as a 3RZ so that's what i'm doing.

    Problem is we never got the 2RZFE here just the 2RZE but here is where it get's interesting, parts are very similar between model's;

    2RZE block = 2RZFE block
    2RZE crank = 2RZFE crank
    2RZE rods = 2RZFE rods
    2RZFE head = 3RZFE head
    2RZFE headgasket = 3RZFE headgasket
    2RZE timing case = 2RZFE,3RZFE timing case

    I have to get 2RZFE pistons but thats about it

    Goal power wise is a mild 350HP, turbo choice is still undecided but something that would boost hard between 2500-6000rpm......

    more to come.

    oil pick up and dipstick/tube.... i also have to get a new front timing cover but thats easy to get as the prados over here have the correct version (dipstick goes through timing cover not side of block)

    the biggest problem i now have is the R150 i was going to use suits a 3rz block...which is taller so wont fit the shorter 2rz block, poo. so its either back to a w series box or trying to find a bellhousing to suit?......
    i do have an adaptor plate that goes from R150 to a340 series auto bellhousing, problem is the 1rz/2rz engine's only came with a44d autos...dammit!!
