I don't think there's anything particularly needed special for Toyota brakes, it's not like the Toyota Red Coolant.

I'm using a DOT6 racing fluid ($$$$), but my car isn't used on the street, so lasts a lot longer.

A good quality DOT 5 should be sufficient. It's all I've ever run in the Dinas on the track.

Any performance/track fluid is an option. I use Motul RBF 600/660 - but it's quite exxy. Penrite does on in their Sin range that's still very good and a bit cheaper iirc.

I'd suggest looking at the temp rating of all the brake fluids at a good auto shop (I like Autobarn), and pick the one that's best bang for buck - you don't need to pay the extra $20/L for those last 50 degrees of temp rating

Penrite sin is now called penrite racing brake fluid. It is now of comparable performance to stuff like RBF660, but at much lower cost. Get either that or motul RBF600/660. Anything else will need multiple bleeds over the course of a day if you are using stock brakes.

I would be fitting the highest temp full race pads, the best fluid you can buy and sentencing the rotors to death, I've got identical brakes on mine and whilst they work........ R33's were not known for having amazing brakes, toss in a heaver car with a 1JZ making more chop and your going to need all the help you can get.

RBF660 is not that bad price wise, I got a liter of it for $60

Garth - When is the next day?

I've pulled the car cover off, started the motor, bought a 2 way LSD and ordered a heap of shit.

Yep, 8th of August is the next one, second last one for the year! When i realised it was only two months off i thought i should get the next thread up, and suddenly it's two weeks later. Anyway, it's soon, so get organised.

    Rob: As promised, my Phillip Island turn 1 spin - outlap, 1st flyer, then it's the 2nd flyer starting at about 4:30;

hmmm, chances of me getting the engine conversion completed might be slim.
Or at least I'll be running like the yellow Honda last time, with no cluster...

    ok, random electrical question.
I plugged the Elantra wiper motor into the Excel loom tonight and it seemed to work properly.
Conversely, does this mean that the Elantra wiring loom should make the Excel wiper motor work (which is what I need)?

Now if only the Elantra wiring plugged into the Excel's indicator stalk, then I'd have a lot less trouble

I've been a bit lucky with some of the stuff.
Wiper motors, radiator fans, headlights all have the same plugs & pins between the 2 cars.
Gotta love the laziness of not redesigning stuff
