Why not run a standard HG?. Cam, extractors and head work should not need to run any special HG unless you were boring it out significantly and / or running boost.

I have the same specs less cam in my 3T and my standard HG is more than fine for the task. It puts out 80rwkw so not too wheezy.

    Hi all, just joined.

I have a similar enquiry to the original poster.

I am building a 2TG for my stage rally car, I am absolutely a rank amateur and have 'back room knowledge' only.
All machining work and core building work entrusted to a good man.

    Spec:
Standard 2T crank with steel centre main, line bored accordingly. Lightened flywheel to 6.5 lb ??
Eagle H beam rods with ARP bolts.
88mm Supertech forged pistons, 39mm pin height (forced choice as my preferred 87mm are no longer available).
Titivated 88260 head with standard valve sizes (boy did the exhaust valves take some finding!).
Double TRD valve springs and 13 hole cam sprockets.
Cams undecided, (I have some Kent, TRD and Piper) that are in good condition, being checked out by a Cam supplier so I have accurate timing data.
    Twin weber 45's
    Decent exhaust.

Now this might sound like a very naive question:

I want to use a cometic head gasket but I only see them advertised as '87mm'.

Will this size be OK with my 88mm bore size ?

    Great site by the way.

    Nick

    Update:
Ignore question as I have just been advised by the supplier that the Supertech 2T pistons are not available (despite them quoting me a price !)
