The wiring side goes completely over my head.

I am looking for a suitable upright for the front. The MX5 ones are not going to cut it with an 18x11 wheel with a racing slick. I was considering an RX8 upright. There are not too many production cars with A arm suspension that I can think of.

I've decided to use S14 rear knuckles and arms. I am going to only use the S14 subframe to mock up the rear pickup points. I hope to get some gktech uprights. All these parts will suit the nissan diff and axles I am using. After I get the front geometry sorted I will make some front uprights. Possibly using jza80 front flanges. The nissan parts will take the horsepower and have a lot of aftermarket parts available.

Are you using the stock ECU? If you are, and the donor car had an immobiliser, I'm pretty sure you need the original immobiliser unit + antenna + original key.

If you want 2GR specific info another good place to look is twobrutal.co.uk. There are heaps of people in the UK putting these into their MR2s, and this site is full of good V6 tech. Driveline is obviously something they wont be able to help you with as much though.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Thankfully I am staying away from the factory ecu. So I don't have the whole key drama and the tunability of the e1280 adaptronic ecu.

2gr can be quite easily "rekeyed" by a good auto locksmith - I had one a year or so ago - took only a few minutes after we had the key cut. - frightening how easy it was to do actually (with the right equipment)

I had planned to but its hard to find a car with enough damage that it is cheap , but without too much front damage. Its just so hard to see around the engine of a front damaged aurion.

depends on how damaged the car is. modern cars are pretty tough (which makes them lots of fun to cut apart!)

I have a whole damaged (drivable) aurion for sale (or just motor conversion) by the way - current model with 3000k on the clock

Maybe it's just me, but they look like quite a large engine!
