mine is making 110kw with a t50 and auto tailshaft and it seems to be holding up fine, no vibrations or noises so far
Hi guys,
Just wanting to get some opinions on the strength of a standard ta22 automatic tailshaft. Anyone experience any issues with strength, balancing? Any other issues I should look out for considering these are rubber filled shafts??
Engine is a 2t/3t hybrid making just over 100rwkw, installing a w55, standard t series diff with Kaaz 2way lsd and 4.77 diff gears, using exedy heavy duty clutch kit.
Cheers

Nah i just had to change the yoke, different spline count, no lengthing required, i converted mine from auto to manual so i had the auto tailshaft anyway, a manual one was pretty hard to find.
Did u get the shaft balanced at all? If so did it balance ok?
I took my auto shaft to get it serviced and balanced, new yoke as the existing one has rusted due to being exposed to the elements, new uni joints and a balance. The shop recommended that I use a different shaft as the rubber filled shafts don't balance properly and have durability and strength issues.
I think its been balanced when the original owner had it cos its got weights on it.
They are balanced from factory as mine also has balancing weights on it that look like factory work.. I just get funny about tailshafts and I might be getting a little over cautious due to my paranoia regarding tailshafts.
